PSP 4000 Console
Rumours of a new Sony PSP have been around even before Sony released the PSP 3000. However, these rumours are based in a strong foundation of fact. Those foundations are based on a conversation between Sony Executives at the recent Gadget Show Live.
We now know that the PSP 4000 will be launched on 1st October 2009 and will be priced at $249 in the US.
The PSP 4000 will be known as the PSP Go which reflects the range of PSP accessories currently available. The new PSP console will be smaller and lighter than previous consoles, and features a slide-out control panel. Perhaps more interestingly though is that the PSP 4000 is to drop the UMD format for PSP games and instead, games will be only available via download. Unofficial, wink wink, stories are that there will be around 100 PSP games available to download from the launch of the new PSP 4000.
